You can make these bottles for use as decor only, or you can make them food safe by painting the outside of the bottle.

Things You'll Need
  • Red and white glass paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Empty imitation milk bottle
  • Paint brush
  • Baker's twine or ribbon (optional)
  • Oven for curing paint

For Decor Only

Step 1
Pour acrylic white paint inside the bottle.

Step 2
Swirl paint around to cover the entire interior of the bottle, being sure to not allow any to spill outside.

Step 3
Using a brush and red glass paint, write desired words. We had a little fun and wrote the letters backwards for a little whimsy.

Step 4
Allow paint to dry for at least one hour. Ensure the paint is dry to the touch before baking. Follow product instructions for baking times.

Food Safe Method

Step 1
Do not pour paint inside the bottle, but instead, paint the outside of the bottle using white glass paint and allow to dry.

Step 2
Use a permanent marker or glass paint to write desired wording.

Step 3
Allow paint to dry for at least one hour. Ensure the paint is dry to the touch before baking. Follow product instructions for baking times.

These adorable little bottles make for whimsical Christmas decor or can be used as a photography prop. For better results, allow a week for paint to completely cure before hand washing.

Add a a ribbon or tie some bakers twine around the neck of the bottle for an extra holiday touch!
